Play, learn, grow: cross-curricular learning through mindfulness & Movement
Are you a yoga teacher, physical therapist, educator, parent or professional who wants to help your kiddos build their brain and heart muscles while helping them find their passion so they have a lifelong love of learning? Do you feel lost on how to help your learners regulate their emotions and feel a sense of peace in their bodies? Do you often ask how you can create learning experiences that get kids moving or getting them engaged fully because they are digging in? Do you feel like there’s something missing in your classes but you haven’t been able to pinpoint what it is nor have you been able to really bridge the connection between the academic and social-emotional domains? Our Play, Learn, Grow Teacher Training, comprised of two parts, sees the gap and intends to disrupt the status quo to prepare professionals who work with children to create learning experiences that excite them, celebrate them, and encourages their innate creativity and empathy to shine.
Each component of our training delves into child development, learning theories, yoga philosophy, social-emotional knowledge, and equips you with the skills necessary to lead classes, events, and experiences for children of all ages. Not only will you learn how to teach children’s yoga and mindfulness classes alone, you will learn how to incorporate these practices and principles into any class. More importantly, you will feel confident in blending various academic disciplines together, including the “soft skills”, the sciences, and the humanities through the best pedagogical practices, inspired by traditional and non-traditional approaches. Some of the approaches that inform our training include project-based learning, unschooling, unit studies, Montessori, nature schooling, and thematic studies.
Upon completion, you will receive a certificate and you will be fully certified in the Play, Learn, Grow Methodology.
*note: the first parts are bundled together automatically as one training. The annual retreat, for which you’ll receive an invitation, is priced separately as we welcome attendants who are not seeking certification.
Play, learn, grow testimonial: tammy’s story
As a longtime homeschooler, I wish this training had been available long ago. I learned how to plan and organize a class that includes movement that makes sense with what we are learning and why it is important to help kids get in tune with themselves before taking on the challenges that learning can bring. I recommend this for anyone who has kids or works with kids. It was a fun retreat and it was like being a kid again!

The Mentorship; Grow
Part 2
After finishing your two-day intro training, you’ll flow into a mentorship for further connection and understanding of PLG, specifically implementation in your particular region and with your specific goals in mind. In this 6 hour (6 week) module, you’ll get live online assistance (via Zoom) in bringing what you’ve learned to your community. Each week, we build on the last and strategize lesson planning, teaching methodology, and community engagement. The online sessions prepare you via group cohort collaboration, live Q & A’s, discussion, and weekly projects. Long virtual lectures are not our thing-this project-based approach is key to further developing your skills and knowledge.
Please note: Attending our two-day live Play module is necessary for the Learn mentorship module; however, consulting and one-on-one mentorships are available to professionals as well, particularly those who already work within the industry, are children’s yoga teachers, homeschool co-ops, etc. Contact us to book a discovery call for this option.

play, learn, grow testimonial: phoebe’s story
What I enjoyed most about the training was its focus on multifaceted learning. This isn’t a textbook, memorize it learning. It’s all about sharing with kids hands-on activities and experiences that help them construct their own learning. It helped me reshape the way I was writing my lesson plans to allow for this accommodation of switching gears and meeting the learner where they are. I felt my own imagination return and become a kid again which just helps me relate to my kiddos.

Our retreat is a time of practice, reflection, rest, and connection. Here is where we’ll delve the deepest into yoga and mindfulness, service and selflessness. Each day has structured learning experiences as well as guided adventures that reframe your mind as a caregiver and educator. You’ll grow as a teacher, friend, community leader, and human. While this retreat’s purpose is to expand your heart and mind, there is still a ton of learning happening! We are melding the lectures and discussions with real experiences though to shift our perspective and further integrate the first two modules.
