A place to connect, unwind, and create memories
Grow Family was born to help families of all shapes, sizes, and statures find their full potential through the connective power of our breath, our relationships, and our experiences. From seed to sap, we walk alongside you as you journey your way through life with a mission to thrive and to grow in happiness and health.
Here, dance to silly songs and perfect your tree pose with your child. Or, dust off the day’s battle scars with your best friend as you breathe together. Or, restore your spirit on your bolster while practicing much-needed self care so you can reenter the world rejuvenated and awakened. Bond with your baby while in boat pose and relax with your partner in savasana. Befriend other parents knowing that your little ones can have an amazing play date with no judgement and learn the ropes of one of the biggest life events in our birth and parenting classes. Prepare your soul with prenatal yoga and restore your strength in our postnatal classes.
Take comfort in our come as you are approach. Trust your intuition and be empowered in every class knowing that you can practice how you please, intimately aware of your uniqueness in body and mind and how that shapes your practice. Here, you’ll be honored and respected, and your practice will evolve to provide clarity when needed most.

Our values
Affirming We actively affirm all peoples’ identities and we know that social justice, human rights, and yoga are one. There can be no peace until there is justice and love for our brothers and sisters who are way too often treated poorly. Each month 5% of all recurring/autopay memberships go toward organizations fighting for effective change such as Black Lives Matter, Equal Justice Initiative, Gender Education Network, Jasmyn, and many more.
Inclusive Families of all shapes, sizes, and configurations are welcomed and embraced with open arms. Your parenting journey will be respected here. We understand that yoga looks different in every body, and we are committed to helping you find a practice that fits with your goals and lifestyle, on and off the mat. Equality is important to us. So much so, that racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, and classism will not be tolerated ever. We promise to always fight for and uphold equality and justice because it is right. Most of all, we care about you and want you to know we love you the way you are.
Intimate We will know your names, your childrens’ names, and you. We want to know what your goals are and what your struggles are because we are your system of support. We keep our class sizes cozy to foster connection and dialogue.
Fun We want you to look forward to coming every time. Whether you are coming to one of our adult classes or a family and kids class, you will leave here feeling great. Happy, smiling, and excited to return. We like to laugh, talk, and live fully. Your kids will bug you to come to yoga!
Enthusiastic We will be just as ready and excited to be here and our teachers will be prepared and ready to go. We want you to feel welcomed and excited and that starts with us! Attitude is contagious!
Yoga is a lifestyle We believe that yoga is more than contorting your body into poses or that they only place and time to yoga is at the studio. Every class will teach you something new about yoga philosophy that is applicable to the modern parent’s daily life and that will help you and your children live more mindfully and peacefully.
We believe in science Anything and everything we teach will be based in tangible evidence and backed by research. Because your health and happiness are important to us, we will stay in our lane and help where our power and education are greatest and refer to community partners with whom we’ve built a relationship of trust.
Education We value continuing education and becoming subject matter experts in our field to give you the best experience by sharing our knowledge in real and fun ways for your family. Our studio and our instructors all have advanced collegiate education in child development, perinatal & parental support, and yoga philosophy.

What time should I arrive for class?
Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before class begins, nor 5 minutes after class begins. You can see our policies here.
Where are you located?
We are located in Avondale in the St. John’s Shopping Plaza right next to Harp’s, formerly Harpoon Louie’s. We are suite 3. It is on the corner of Herschel and Woodmere.
Do I need to bring my own mat?
Yes, in an effort to be as safe as possible, please bring your own mat. We do have some available for purchase as well.
Are masks required?
Yes. We strongly recommend and urge you to wear a mask when checking in and until you begin your practice on the mat. As we are a small business operating in compliance with local mandates, you must wear a mask upon entry. If you don’t feel well, have a temperature, or have recently been exposed to COVID, please wait until you are better.
I have physical limitations-is yoga ok for me?
Our classes are gentle, focused on relaxation, and inclusiveness to all bodies. We provide plenty of modifications and inspire you to listen and honor your body’s voice at all times. That said, always check with your care provider if you have considerations and concerns.
I’ve never done yoga before…
That’s perfect! You don’t need to have done yoga to start nor enjoy our classes. We welcome you with open arms.
How often should I practice?
Busy lives are our reality, but to get the full benefit of a yoga practice, you really gotta be consistent. Use it or lose it. And it ain’t just flexibility-we are talking about a more important art and skill. The ability to calm down and live a happier life. With that, committing to twice a week is a sweet spot. But since we offer multiple classes, you can (and should) come to a class or two for you, one with your family, and one for your little one or teen. Your entire family will reap the benefits!
Can I invite friends?
Yes! Yes you should! Friends are awesome and sharing yoga with them is even more awesome.
