Mindful Activities to Celebrate Fall-Free Printable!

Autumn is such a magical time of year that makes us feel calm and cozy. It reminds us to embrace hygge, or the way of life that is all about resting and seeking comfort. One of the best things we can do as a family, is slow down the hustle and connect. Grab your fuzzy blankets because we have some amazing tips to make this fall one to remember! These fall activities are perfect for preschoolers and elementary-aged kiddos as part of your homeschool day or as an after-school add-on.

Ways to Embrace Fall with Little Ones

  • Hang fairy lights or put out cute electronic tea candles around the house. The little tealights make great meditation tools too!

  • Make some cider or kettle corn together and have weekly not-so-spooky movie nights. Some fall movies/shows we are excited about include My Little Pony: A New Generation and The Addams Family.

  • Build forts with blankets, collect leaves, and learn about different fall traditions around the world together.

  • Go to a farm to learn about the agriculture, flora, and fauna in your local area.

  • Listen to this fall-inspired family meditation before bed while diffusing calming autumn scents!

  • Crafts are always a great way to spark curiosity, continue learning, and to pass the time on chilly days. We love the idea of using natural resources such as fallen leaves, pinecones, and more. We also love all the cute “fall-themed” woodland creatures such as this cute little porcupine. Be sure to print yours and have fun coloring, painting, and dressing him up. Get really creative and paint him using toothpicks!
